    Strut cap question

So, the only way that I can get some lift at the moment is to fab up a set of strut caps. I have that part of the equation figured out. The part I don't have figured out is installation.

I know that I will have to get longer studs made. What I don't know is what do I do with the strut? Does it just stay under the cap and have no contact with the mount or what. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

ok so i just drew this up... its 4am so be easy it looks really bad but its the best way i could find to help answer your question.
if you use youre stock studs to bolt through the holes in the lowered parts and put studs in your spacer then those will go into the stock holes in your body.. thats my idea.. i hope it helps. also. in doin this be sure to watch your camber and alignment..

    good luck!

I have no idea what this thread is about, but that part in the drawing looks like it will work well! Do they sell those somewhere?

Might be a little tough to fab one, (without a Bridgeport mill).

i'm not sure. i wasnt sure what a strut cap was going for, or what he meant by that. and i thought about a budget boost system but workin with hondas ive noticed that the struts are kind of hard to change. its kind of like a budget boost system.. but above the strut instead of between the spring. i'm not sure if they sell what i drew up, but its all i could think of as far as lifting the crv. also, if they do make those i'd have no idea what to call them.

actually... try that link.. i like that version more than mine. it doesnt look as sturdy.. but it looks ALOT easier to fab at home and gets the same effect when all is said and done.

    Re: Strut cap question

That is very much what I am needing, except that it wont fit my first gen.... damnit. We first gen owners get shit on when it comes to aftermarket anymore.

But I have a friend who has his own metal fab business, so I can use his tools, knowledge and skills to get what I need made.

    Thanks a ton

Metal can be made to do whatever you want it to. If it's trying to give you a problem, use a bigger hammer! If it still wants trouble, get out the cutting torch.
